Borgo Smeraldo on the Costa Smeralda
Set on a promontory overlooking the unspoilt part of the Costa Smeralda, the seven villas of Borgo Smeraldo are built with exposed stone and wood in the characteristic style of the Stazzi, the farmhouses of the north-east of the island.
Each villa has two or three independent double suites with a large living area and kitchen, and a terracotta and wood exterior around a private heated swimming pool set in a natural garden of myrtle, juniper and lentisk.
myrtle, juniper and mastic trees.
Villa Tavolara, one of Borgo Smeraldo's largest, is built on two levels: the upper level consists of a living area with kitchen and a panoramic terrace from which you can see the sun rising from the sea. The lower level is occupied by three double suites with separate entrances that create a sheltered courtyard around the large private heated swimming pool surrounded by terracotta and teak flooring.
Fabrics, carpets, sofas and cushions have been designed to give each suite a unique flavour of refined craftsmanship. The colours are in shades of blue and sand.
From the villa there is a splendid view of the rocks of San Pantaleo, the sea of Porto Rotondo and the Island of Tavolara, from which it takes its name.
Dense Mediterranean scrub mixed with high rocks, on which falcons nest, complete the landscape.
