The castle of Tornano, an ancient and evocative noble residence of the eleventh century located in the heart of Chianti, is a historical residence renovated in 2001 and used as a hotel. The castle has preserved the elegant and elegant atmosphere of the past and, at the same time, is a welcoming and hospitable.
This charming property, consisting of 6 double bedrooms, 2 triple rooms and 2 suites for a total of 22 beds, can be booked entirely. The small village located at the foot of the Castle instead, bookable only on request together with the castle, offers 6 new rooms and 6 apartments in rustic Tuscan style. The castle and the village have, in total, a total of 52 beds.
Outside there is the beautiful swimming pool in the ancient moat and the solarium lawn at your disposal to regenerate in total carefree.
Castello di Tornano is located a few kilometers from Gaiole in Chianti, on a panoramic hill a short distance from three UNESCO sites: the romantic and medieval Siena (25 km), the Renaissance Florence with its art and historical monuments (60 km) and the panoramic San Gimignano with its "one hundred" towers (50 km).
The staff is at your disposal to suggest and plan itineraries and cultural itineraries to discover the various ancient Tuscan villages nearby.
The streets of EROICA
Along panoramic roads that wind through the fascinating production area of Chianti Classico Gallo Nero, among vineyards, olive groves and woods, there are many picturesque villages and an infinite range of views and emotions!
The unspoilt countryside of the Strada dei Castelli del Chianti meets the ancient castles, the wineries and the famous villages, rich in history and works of art: Radda in Chianti is located 10km and Greve in Chianti 30 km.
In the nearby valleys there is the medieval stronghold of Certaldo Alto (town of the writer Giovanni Boccaccio), Monteriggioni with its typical city walls, Colle Val d'Elsa crystal town and the Etruscan city of Volterra.
For those who are more greedy and fond of the ancient flavors, as well as the typical Tuscan cuisine, it is worth visiting the cradles of the eno-gastronomic tradition: the medieval Pienza, Montalcino and Montepulciano famous for their fine wines (Rosso and Brunello di Montalcino, Nobile di Montepulciano) and the tasty pecorino cheese (of Pienza) with different types and qualities.
Do not forget the Terme di Rapolano Terme, 30 km away, for a dip in the hot springs, wellness and health!
